CVE-2019-14048

Out-of-bounds memory access via crafted video clip

Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8150 video processing allows local users to cause out-of-bounds memory access with a crafted clip. The media-player video path copies clip-controlled input without verifying that it fits the destination buffer. Local access and crafted-clip playback are required; Qualcomm does not disclose the copied field or whether corruption crashes the player or enables code execution.
