Memory corruption via unchecked video log data
Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Buffer overflow in the Video component of Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via crafted log data. The clientlog and serverlog processing paths copy received log data without validating its size against the destination buffer. Qualcomm identifies remote reachability, but the closed-source advisory does not disclose the transport, required device state, or whether corruption yields code execution or only a crash.
