Memory corruption via unchecked EFS diagnostic lengths
Published Apr 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon EFS diagnostics allows local users to corrupt memory with a crafted filename or payload. The diagnostic interface processes EFS filenames and payloads without checking either input against the destination buffer's capacity. Low-privileged local access to the diagnostic interface is required; successful exploitation can read or alter data or crash the affected device.
