Device crash via out-of-order MKV cues
Published Jan 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Improper input validation in Qualcomm Snapdragon video firmware allows remote attackers to crash affected devices with a malformed MKV clip. The closed-source MKV parser dereferences a null pointer when it processes cue information before the corresponding segment information. The clip must reach the video parser, and successful triggering interrupts service without reported data disclosure or modification.
