Reflected XSS via unescaped shortcode-generator output
Published Mar 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Simple Link Directory before 7.3.5 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser via crafted content. qcopd-shortcode-generator.php directly echoes link titles and taxonomy term names into generated HTML without esc_html output encoding. Exploitation requires a visitor to load the affected response; injected script runs in the site's browser origin and can read or alter data available to that session.
