Cross-site scripting via unsanitized xlink href
Published Mar 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in RainLoop Webmail before 1.13.0 allows remote attackers to run script in a user's browser via crafted HTML content. The ClearHtml sanitizer fails to remove non-HTTP xlink:href attributes, allowing script-bearing links through while browser protections are absent. Exploitation requires a user to view attacker-controlled HTML; the script can read or modify data available to the affected browser session.
