CVE-2019-13196Network attack vector

Authenticated device crash via oversized web arguments

Published Mar 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Buffer overflow in Kyocera ECOSYS M5526CDW firmware 2R7_2000.001.701 allows remote authenticated users to crash the device. The web application processes oversized arg4 or arg9 values from crafted requests without enforcing the destination buffer size. Low-privilege network access to the web interface is required; device crashes are demonstrated, while arbitrary code execution remains unverified.
