Administrator credential recovery via fixed-key XOR encoding
Published May 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Weak password encryption in Bond JetSelect all versions allows attackers to recover administrator credentials from stored values. ENCtool.jar XORs plaintext passwords with a fixed one-byte key and Base64-encodes the result, so reversing the operation reveals the original input. Access to an encrypted value from JetSelect files or its database is required; recovered administrator credentials permit changes to vessel network-segregation rules and managed-device configuration.
