Authenticated metadata disclosure via GraphQL authorization gaps
Published Mar 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Incorrect access control in GitLab CE and EE 11.10 through 12.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted metadata. The GraphQL service returns restricted user, group, and repository metadata without enforcing the caller's required resource permissions. A low-privileged authenticated account can query the network-exposed endpoint and learn otherwise hidden object metadata; no data modification or service interruption is reported.
