Authentication bypass in NETGEAR Nighthawk X10 R9000 firmware before 1.0.4.26 allows remote attackers to read and alter router settings. The /soap/server_sa service trusts a client-supplied X-Forwarded-For value as the source IP and exempts the router's 192.168.1.1 address from authentication. Direct access requires LAN reachability; DNS rebinding can relay requests through a victim's browser, exposing configuration data and administrative settings.
