CVE-2019-12266

Code execution via unchecked IOCtl stack copy

Published Mar 30, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in Wyze Cam Pan v2, Cam v2, and Cam v3 firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. IOCtl 0x2776 trusts a signed one-byte length and copies up to 0x7F bytes into a 0x40-byte stack buffer without checking its capacity, overwriting the return address. Exploitation requires an authenticated camera-control session and grants control of code executing on the affected device.
