Improper certificate validation in ASUSTOR exFAT Driver 1.0.0.r20 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof its license server. During online license validation, exfat.cgi and exfatctl accept any TLS certificate presented for asustornasapi.asustor.com instead of authenticating the server. An attacker must intercept and alter the NAS-to-server connection; the flaw permits forged license responses, while root command execution requires a separate response-injection flaw.
