Arbitrary code execution via writable configuration
Published Feb 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Code injection in Combodo iTop 2.2.0 through 2.6.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through ajax.dataloader requests. The ajax.dataloader endpoint processes a maliciously crafted payload while the configuration file is writable, enabling attacker-controlled code to run. Exposure requires a writable configuration file, a state present during installation or upgrade and reachable through certain web-interface errors, CLI edits, or the community hub-connector race.
