CVE-2019-10995

System takeover via hidden provisioning accounts

Published Jan 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in ABB CP651 BSP UN30 1.76 and earlier allow adjacent-network attackers to take control of the HMI. Hidden administrative accounts accept a shared provisioning password that Panel Builder 600 uses to flash interfaces and tag mappings. Exploitation requires access to the control network, and the account grants administrative control that can stop the node or run arbitrary code.
