CVE-2019-10800Public exploit

Shell command execution via unsanitized gcov options

Published Jul 13, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Command injection in the Codecov Python uploader before 2.0.16 allows local users to execute shell commands through crafted gcov options. The main function interpolates gcov_root, gcov_exec, and gcov_args into a shell command passed to try_to_run without removing ampersands. Exploitation requires control of the uploader's gcov command-line options, and injected commands run with the uploader process privileges.
