CVE-2019-10788Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote command execution via unsanitized image path

Published Feb 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Command injection in Den Norske Turistforening im-metadata 3.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands. The metadata API incorporates a caller-controlled image path containing shell separators into an ImageMagick identify command passed to exec. A consuming network application must supply attacker-controlled input to the library, and injected commands run with that application's process privileges.
