CVE-2019-10785Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via incomplete XML escaping

Published Feb 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site scripting in DojoX before 1.11.9, 1.12.7, 1.13.6, 1.14.5, 1.15.2, and 1.16.1 allows remote attackers to run script. dojox.xmpp.util.xmlEncode chains single-match string replacements, leaving later XML metacharacters unescaped; the corrected code uses a global expression and entity map. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled content to reach an affected XMPP or DTL path and user interaction, enabling script execution in the application's browser origin.
