Memory disclosure and interruption via unchecked ADSP payload
Published Apr 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Qualcomm Snapdragon ADSP message parsing allows attackers to expose memory or interrupt operation via crafted payloads. The ADSP message parser fails to check the size of a payload received from userspace before parsing it, allowing access beyond the payload bounds. A crafted userspace message must reach the affected audio DSP path; consequences are bounded to memory disclosure or service interruption, with no reported data modification.
