Remote memory disclosure via malformed video clip
Published Jan 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Qualcomm Snapdragon firmware allows remote attackers to disclose memory and interrupt service via crafted video clips. The video playback component reads beyond the supplied clip buffer when processing a non-standard video clip, causing a buffer over-read. The CVSS record models unauthenticated network reachability without user interaction; exploitation requires delivery of a malformed clip to a vulnerable playback path and can expose memory or disrupt service.
