Denial of service via malformed SIP message
Published Apr 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Buffer over-read in Qualcomm Snapdragon modem data processing allows remote attackers to cause denial of service via malformed SIP messages. The modem data SIP parser mishandles a nonstandard message string and reads beyond the intended buffer. The trigger requires a crafted SIP message to reach modem processing; public material reports denial of service but does not identify a crash or hang.
