Container image access via plaintext robot tokens
Published Jan 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Credential exposure in Red Hat Quay allows local users with database query access to read or write registry container images. The robot-account credential storage path writes reusable authentication tokens to the Quay database in plaintext instead of encrypting them. Exploitation requires the ability to query the registry database, after which stolen tokens provide only the repository permissions assigned to each robot account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
