CVE-2019-10158Network attack vector

Session hijacking via retained pre-rotation identifiers

Published Jan 2, 2020 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Session fixation in Infinispan before 9.4.15.Final allows remote attackers to hijack authenticated sessions after user interaction. AbstractInfinispanSessionRepository.save retained the original cache entry when MapSession changed its identifier, leaving the pre-rotation ID usable. An attacker must first place a known identifier in a victim session and wait for authentication; reuse of that retained ID then assumes the authenticated session.
