CVE-2018-9479Network attack vector

Remote code execution via Bluetooth SDP offset

Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Android 7.0 through 9 Bluetooth SDP allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted service requests. The SDP attribute request handlers accept an offset beyond the attribute length, allowing subsequent length handling and copying to write past a buffer boundary. A Bluetooth-reachable attacker needs no authentication or user interaction, and successful memory corruption yields code execution in the Bluetooth service context.
