Local privilege escalation via touchscreen bounds check
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 5, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Google Android's Pixel touchscreen kernel driver allows local users to gain elevated privileges. The sw49408_irq_runtime_engine_debug function in touch_sw49408.c applies an incorrect bounds check and writes beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires System execution privileges and no user interaction, and successful abuse grants higher local privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
