Local privilege escalation via unchecked reboot command

Stack buffer overflow in Google's Android HTC reboot_block driver allows local users with System privileges to gain elevated privileges. The reboot_block_command routine fails to bound the command length before writing it into a stack buffer. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and can elevate the caller beyond that access boundary.
