Remote memory disclosure via uninitialized GATT handle
Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Information disclosure in Android 8.1 Bluetooth GATT allows remote attackers to read process memory via a malformed Read By Type request. When a request shorter than four bytes makes read_handles return early, gatts_process_read_by_type_req sends an error response using the uninitialized s_hdl stack value. Bluetooth reachability is sufficient; no privileges or user interaction are required, and the response discloses a two-byte stack value.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
