Denial of service via out-of-bounds read
Published Nov 27, 2024 · Updated Nov 29, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 7, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 8, and 8.1 allows remote attackers to cause a service interrupt via crafted media. The ih264d_assign_pic_num function in ih264d_utils.c reads beyond an array because it fails to validate a picture-number index before use. Exploitation requires a user to open or process the media, but requires no additional execution privileges and affects availability only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
