LAN device identifier disclosure via exposed custom_id variable
Published Feb 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Information disclosure in Asuswrt-Merlin before 384.4 and ASUS firmware before 3.0.0.4.382.50470 allows remote attackers to read LAN identifiers. The blocking.asp page returns the custom_id variable, which contains internal device hostnames and MAC addresses, without enforcing authentication. Network access to the router web interface is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to disclosure of LAN device identifiers.
