Unauthenticated code execution via Forms API property injection
Published Mar 29, 2018 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Property injection in Drupal Core's Forms API allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted HTTP requests. Request processing accepts hash-prefixed input keys as render-array properties, including #post_render callbacks, and invokes attacker-selected functions. Default or common module configurations expose this behavior without authentication or user interaction, allowing compromise within the PHP process's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=Drupal before 7.58, 8.x before 8.3.9, 8.4.x before 8.4.6, and 8.5.x before 8.5.1
