Cryptographic downgrade in Ecobee Ecobee4 4.2.0.171 allows physically proximate attackers to redirect Wi-Fi traffic via an evil twin. The Wi-Fi connection logic accepts a stronger unencrypted network matching the configured SSID despite WPA2 being configured. Exploitation requires forced deauthentication and a nearby attacker-controlled access point, after which the device connects without encryption.
