Privilege escalation via cross-origin role update
Published May 25, 2026 · Updated May 25, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Admidio 3.3.5 allows remote attackers to increase role permissions through a crafted web request. The roles_function.php handler accepts a cross-origin POST and writes attacker-selected role flags, including role assignment, user approval, and user editing permissions. The published proof of concept targets an existing role through a malicious HTML form; the public record does not resolve which victim session or privileges are required.
