CVE-2018-25360Public exploit

Local code execution via Trace Route overflow

Published May 25, 2026 · Updated May 25, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in AgataSoft Auto PingMaster 1.5 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through the Trace Route host name field. The field copies pasted content into a fixed-size stack buffer without adequate bounds enforcement, allowing shellcode and jump instructions to overwrite the structured exception handler pointer. Exploitation requires local access and pasting crafted ping.txt contents into the application, after which code runs with the application process privileges.
