Administrator account takeover via forged profile update

Published May 23, 2026 · Updated May 23, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in Smakosh Smartshop 1.0 allows remote attackers to change an authenticated administrator's email and password. The editprofile.php handler accepts email and password fields from a POST request and updates the logged-in account without validating a CSRF token or request origin. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load attacker-controlled HTML that automatically submits the hidden form, enabling account takeover.
