Authenticated file disclosure via unvalidated download paths
Published Apr 29, 2026 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Directory traversal in VideoFlow Digital Video Protection 2.10 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary system files. The downloadsys.pl, download_xml.pl, download.pl, downloadmib.pl, and downloadFile.pl CGI scripts pass the unvalidated ID parameter into file-open paths, so ../ sequences escape their intended directory. Valid session credentials are required; exploitation discloses file contents such as /etc/passwd without reported file modification or service interruption.
