Local code execution via License Name overflow
Published Apr 29, 2026 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Allok Video to DVD Burner 2.6.1217 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through the License Name field. The registration dialog accepts a 4,000-byte crafted value, and data after the 780-byte offset overwrites nSEH and SEH pointers before reaching shellcode. Exploitation requires locally pasting the generated payload into the registration dialog and clicking Register, after which the payload executes in the application process.
