Application crash via oversized IP field input
Published Apr 26, 2026 · Updated Apr 26, 2026
Denial of service in Ambient Weather ObserverIP Scan Tool 1.4.0.1 allows local users to crash the application through the IP field. The IP-field search path processes a 2,000-byte repeated-character string without bounding the input before the operation terminates the program. Exploitation requires local interactive access to paste the generated payload and click Search; the demonstrated consequence is an application crash.
