CVE-2018-25292Public exploit

Application crash via oversized Name-field input

Published Apr 26, 2026 · Updated Apr 26, 2026

Buffer overflow in Bome Software Restorator 1793 allows local users to crash the application through oversized Name-field input. The Name-field handler accepts a 4,000-byte pasted string without enforcing the destination buffer's size, overrunning memory. Exploitation requires local GUI access and clicking OK; the demonstrated consequence is termination of the Restorator process, not data disclosure or modification.
