Buffer overflow in TextPad 8.1.2 allows local users to crash the application through an oversized Run command string. The Tools > Run Command field fails to bound a 5000-byte payload before processing it, allowing the oversized string to overrun a buffer. Exploitation requires local access to the interactive Run dialog and affects application availability, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
