Application crash via oversized output filename
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Local buffer overflow in EZB Systems, Inc. UltraISO Premium Edition 9.7.1.3519 allows local users to crash it via a crafted filename. The Make CD/DVD Image dialog processes 304 bytes plus SEH overwrite values from Output FileName without enforcing destination bounds, overwriting SEH and handler records. Exploitation requires local access to enter the string and click Make; the demonstrated consequence is an UltraISO process crash, not code execution.
