Application crash via oversized preferences value
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Angry IP Scanner 3.5.3 allows local users to crash the application through the display preferences dialog. The unavailable-value field accepts a 44,455,293-character string without a length limit and writes beyond its intended buffer when the preferences are saved. Exploitation requires local interaction with the GUI and interrupts only the scanner process; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
