Stored XSS via unencoded thread subjects
Published Apr 4, 2026 · Updated Apr 4, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in MyBB Last User's Threads in Profile 1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via thread subjects. The mybbirlastthreadsprofile function inserts database-sourced threadsubject values into profile HTML without applying htmlspecialchars_uni or equivalent output encoding. An attacker must be able to create a thread, and execution requires another user to visit the attacker's profile, exposing that browser session to script-driven data access or actions.
