Stack-based buffer overflow in SIPp 3.3 allows local users to execute arbitrary code by supplying an oversized value in a configuration file. The configuration parser accepts a crafted value without sufficient bounds checking, allowing a stack buffer and its return address to be overwritten. Exploitation requires local control of input processed by SIPp and runs code in its process context; the public Linux exploit uses a ROP chain to launch a shell.
