CVE-2018-25219Public exploit

Local code execution via registration field overflow

Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in PassFab for Excel 8.3.1 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted registration code. An overlong value in the Licensed E-mail and Registration Code field overwrites adjacent SEH control data with a pop-pop-ret address and attacker-supplied shellcode. Exploitation requires local access to the registration interface and runs the payload in the application user’s Windows context.
