Authenticated code execution via elFinder file renaming
Published Feb 20, 2026 · Updated Feb 20, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Chamilo LMS 1.11.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through the elFinder module. The social myfiles workflow accepts a file bearing an image header, then elFinder permits its extension to be renamed to PHP in a web-accessible directory. Any registered account that can reach this workflow can execute code with the web server process's privileges by requesting the renamed file.
