Administrative account takeover via forged password change
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Teradek Cube 7.3.6 and 7.3.15 allows remote attackers to change the administrator password. The /cgi-bin/system.cgi password action accepts attacker-chosen pw1 and pw2 values from a cross-origin hidden POST form without validating request origin or an anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit attacker-controlled content, after which the chosen password grants administrative access and invalidates the prior credential.
