CVE-2018-25154Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked Code 93 index

Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025

Out-of-bounds access in GNU Barcode 0.99 allows local users to crash the barcode process by processing a crafted input file. Barcode_93_encode derives an unchecked codeset index through shiftset2 and strchr, then accesses codeset out of bounds at code93.c:169. The demonstrated path requires a user to run the local command-line frontend against a crafted file; the public artifact proves a process abort, not code execution.
