Unauthenticated shell and web access via embedded credentials
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Hard-coded credentials in FLIR AX8 firmware 1.32.16 allow remote attackers to gain shell and web-panel access over the network. The embedded Linux image stores fixed SSH accounts and predefined web-panel username and password pairs that normal camera operations cannot change. Network reachability to SSH or the web panel is sufficient; successful use grants a shell or authenticated interface access with the privileges of the selected built-in account.
