CVE-2018-25118Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized CGI parameters

Published Oct 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 20, 2025

Command injection in GeoVision GV-BX1500 and GV-MFD1501 firmware before November/December 2017 allows remote attackers to execute commands. PictureCatch.cgi passes attacker-controlled username, password, and key values through SIiUTIL_GetDecryptData to popen with sh -c without sanitization. The CGI is reachable without authentication, and injected commands execute as root on the embedded device.
