Resource access via enabled external XML entities
Published Mar 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
XXE in zwczou weixin-python before 0.5.5 allows remote attackers to access parser-reachable resources through crafted XML input. The message parse and payment to_dict paths passed untrusted XML to lxml.etree.fromstring without disabling external-entity resolution. Exploitation requires a host application to route attacker-controlled WeChat message or payment XML into the SDK, exposing files or network resources available to that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
