Root command execution via hard-coded backdoor password
Published Jan 7, 2023 · Updated Nov 25, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Netis Netcore Router firmware allow remote attackers to execute operating-system commands as root over UDP port 53413. The custom backdoor service accepts a fixed authentication string and forwards attacker-supplied command data to an operating-system command handler. Network reachability to UDP port 53413 is sufficient, enabling device takeover and modification of traffic-handling settings.
